For the last several weeks, I've been really, totally, fully intending to start it back up again, with a long post about all the stuff she's started doing lately, and all the fun adventure's we've had. First camping trip! First bluegrass festival! First hike! She laughs! She occasionally cries! She produces incredibly impressive amounts of poo! She takes naps on something vaguely resembling some sort of schedule!
And that's about all I have to say about that. I'll just have to catch you up as we go along, because if I actually sat down and wrote said blog post, it would take another six weeks, and time's a-flyin' by here.
Yesterday we got her a jumper. We're all pretty excited about this. As with the walker, her little legs are just a teensy bit too short, so we throw a thinnish pillow underneath and everybody's happy. Of course, this means that sometime in the next couple of weeks, the pillow will no longer be necessary, and then I will have a momentary freakout about How Very Fast They Grow. But that's a little ways down the road, and we're not going to worry about it right now.
Today is her first Fourth of July, and I am so excited, I can hardly stand it. I hope she'll be awake and cheerful for the fireworks, because based on her reaction to other glowing, blinking lights, she'll totally love them as long as she's generally happy. Nine o'clock is generally bedtime, and a certain small someone grows a tad bit cranky if she doesn't get her boob and bed on time, but I'm going to try and get her to nap well earlier in the evening so she can enjoy the full fireworks experience. One of the great things about living in a small town is that the fireworks basically are right over our deck, and huge and beautiful.
Happy Fourth!
Is that a very little bandana on her head?
ReplyDeleteIt's actually a full-size bandana! But there's a lot of cloth that comes out the back where it's tied, it sort of looked like an exotic bird's tail. My little pirate... :)
