As I was looking through older posts on this blog, I was reminded of the dexterity envy I had several months ago when hanging out with a friend and her five-month-old. Her daughter was reaching for things and grasping them and putting them in her mouth, feats I found nothing short of amazing. She was also laughing up a storm; I was consumed with jealousy.
Well, now my kiddo is reaching for things - everything, to be precise - and grasping them and putting them in her mouth. Hell, at work today, she picked up a freakin' heavy two-hole punch and tried to gnaw on the handle of it. I couldn't believe it; talk about Superbaby. She's like a little ant, able to lift disproportionately heavy objects.
She's also laughing a lot more these days. Today, for the first time, she kept laughing after I stopped zerberting her tummy. Before, she'd only laugh for the duration of the silliness. Today she kept laughing, which prompted me to keep zerberting, and also made me laugh, until we were just completely cracking ourselves up.
It may be the best thing that's ever happened to me. I swear, I am just crazy about this kid.
