the ides of september

If only there were a direct connection between my brain and this blog. Believe me, I mentally blog every day. Unfortunately, that's much less effective than actually, physically blogging, for which I've either lacked the time or the energy lately.

So! Time for a 'this week past nine days in recent photos' post. But first, exciting news: on a walk the other day, Ellie was chatting away in baby language, and clearly said "mama" in the middle of a sentence. I was so excited, I pretty much freaked out right then and there. Clearly, my child is a genius, and also, she loves me.

Okay, so she wasn't actually saying mama in reference to me. I don't care. Still exciting.

Also, we introduced her to watermelon, which was a big hit.

And now, without further ado, I present a smorgasbord of photographic delight.

Going to an arts festival on Labor Day weekend.

Waiting for her shots at the doctor's office. She has no idea.

Bellying up to the sushi bar. "So, where's my roll, Mom?"

Breaking in her new cell phone.

I need to remember to ask myself more often,
"What fun will we have next?"

Playing a board game with Mommy and her friends.

She and I entertain each other very well, indeed.

I often think, "This nap would be so much more comfortable if I could just prop my leg up at a 45 degree angle."
