sitters

Due to various circumstances, we've had to use babysitters more in the last 3 days than in the rest of Ellie's life altogether - four hours a day on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I am relieved to report that this was significantly harder on me than it was on Ellie.

Our sitters are great - they're both good friends of mine, and they dote on Ellie - it's just hard to say goodbye and walk away in the morning. I had to laugh this morning, though, when I went to kiss her goodbye and her response was, essentially, "Yeah yeah - can't talk, Ma, I'm busy playing with this toy." Sigh. I'm glad she had so much fun.

We call this "teamwork."

But I must say, her smile when she sees me after I've been gone for a few hours is incredibly rewarding. I am just so crazy about this kid.
